WE STRIVE FOR GROWTH & EMPOWER PRODUCERS

Best Origins - Socially Responsible - Directly Sourced - Quality Tested - Roaster Friendly

Our mission is a commitment to identifying and ethically sourcing the highest quality coffees from around the globe. We meticulously package them in convenient sizes and present them at competitive prices. Our primary focuses center on sustainability, excellence, and ethical practices.

OUR STORY

OUR PROCESS

✅ We Focus On Roasters First

✅ We connect roasters with green coffee beans, sourcing origin, quality and price point with their needs in mind.

COMMON SUPPLIERS

❌ Focus on inventory first by buying and stocking large homogenized quantities of green coffee beans and then try to SELL to roasters.

❌ Push a certain origin or quality based on their supply, not necessarily what in the best interest of roasters.

IMPORT AND LOGISTICS SERVICES

Roasters are always on the lookout for extraordinary green coffee beans. When the connection between the coffee farmer and roaster is established, we assist in importing the beans to the US. We guide you through every stage of the process, ensuring a smooth experience from beginning to end. We also ensure the safe transportation of the green coffee beans, right from the farm to the roasters' dock. Our priority is to maintain a secure and ethical business transaction throughout the entire process.

JOIN OUR MISSION

Join us on a journey to the birthplace of coffee, where we carefully handpick only the finest coffee cherries sourced from local producers. These cherries are selectively picked at different stages of maturity, ensuring the highest quality coffee beans. The dedicated coffee pickers return time and time again to each plant, patiently waiting for the cherries to ripen. Though this process may take longer and incur higher costs, the end result is truly exceptional coffee with a rich body that is a delight to savor.

specialty coffee farms are situated at altitudes exceeding 1,350 meters or 4,000 feet, providing the perfect environment for cultivating coffee beans. Bathed in gentle sunlight that filters through the lush trees of the mountains, coffee beans mature slowly, benefiting from the cool temperatures and optimal sunlight levels. This meticulous approach guarantees coffees of unparalleled flavor and supreme quality.

In addition to crafting outstanding coffee, our coffee plantations serve a higher purpose by preserving the natural biodiversity of the rainforest, a vital habitat for numerous migratory bird species. We invite you to experience our commitment to preservation firsthand by visiting the farms nestled within the rainforest. Come and witness the harmony between the coffee production and the thriving ecosystem that surrounds it.

OUR PRODUCTS

FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED

At Copan Trade, we are a family-owned business with headquarters in Texas since 2002. Our founders, Sheri and Walter Dunaway, embarked on their coffee journey over 35 years ago in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras. From the very start, our family has been dedicated to building meaningful relationships and supporting coffee producers, especially those who are small and medium-sized. we understand the importance of producing coffee in a way that is economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable, allowing us to consistently offer you the finest quality.

OUR STORY

CONTRIBUTE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As we personally engage with every supplier, regardless of their size, we have the ability to understand the needs of local producers and their communities. We strive to support them in every way possible. Throughout our journey that started in western Honduras, our primary focus has been on providing assistance to the families of coffee producers. Through our Non-Profit organization. Copan Cares Org , we have been able to contribute school supplies to the children of these coffee producers, ensuring that they have the means to attend classes. Additionally, we have continuously funded various social activities in local schools to encourage attendance.
