Story

The Candelaria region sits high in Costa Rica’s beautiful West Valley, where mountains create the perfect setting for growing great coffee. This coffee bean is classified as a Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) and is grown at altitudes of 1,200-1,450 meters. For generations, small farmers have cared for the rich volcanic soil, sharing traditions that replenish the land and celebrate each harvest. They pick the cherries by hand from December to April, then use a traditional washed process before drying them in the sun on patios. This careful method brings out the beans’ natural qualities and clean taste. The result is a “Fancy Cup”- grade coffee that shows the care taken at every step. When you brew this Candelaria coffee, you’ll notice a rich, buttery aroma first. Then, a bright hint of citrus adds freshness, and a smooth milk chocolate finish brings everything together toward a balanced flavor profile. It’s a taste of Costa Rica’s history that connects you to the West Valley’s legacy and the hardworking families who grow this coffee.
