The coffee takes its name from a town called San Marcos Ocotepeque. San Marcos is located in a valley where all of the coffees grown in the surrounding mountains (cordilleras) get funneled to and collected. Inaginsa is the only exporter that has a complete milling station in the area, and because of that, the risk of a fermented cup on the green coffee beans they deliver is minimized.
You cannot be closer to the producer then when the family interacting with the producers and farms are the one’s catering to the craft roasters in the USA. Inaginsa is a sister company of Copan Trade.
